Displaying Your Signature

Posting your sig on the Stratics Forums is easy.  Follow these instructions and you'll be displaying yours like the other active posters.  The following is also available from the Stratics FAQ.

In order to add an image to your message or your signature, you must have the image already available on the web, not just on your hard drive. This means that the file must be accessible via the web. This can be on your own personal web page for example.

There are several sites which offer free web hosting, including the following:

www.photobucket.com
www.imageshack.us
www.beplaced.com
www.imagevenue.com

Follow their instructions as to how you upload and store files.  I do host sigs but only until you can establish a web hosting site for yourself.  Please don't ask me to host your files.  It's a temporary service I provide and considering the small charge for sigs it's not too much to ask.  Oh wait, I don't charge for my sigs!  *wink*

Okay, here we go.  From any page within the forums, find Control Panel at the top of the page.

From here, scroll down to where you can edit your preferences.  Click the first on the list, for personal information, email, password, etc.

When you enter the Basic Profile screen, you’ll see a long list of options available for you to customize. If you scroll down you’ll see the signature field. Enter the information you’d like to use here and your image markup goes here as well.

Once your image is available on the web, all you need to do is use the following “Markup Tag” in your message:

For example:
Say you have an image called mysig.jpg and you wish to add it to your post. The file is located on your own personal web page located at www.mywebsite.com. Your image markup would look like this in your message when you type it in:

Please note your code will use [ ] and not < > unless you're using HTML coding.

And finally, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the Submit button and you're done!

As always, give me a holler if you need help.  You can contact me via E-mail, or through PM on the forums where I post under the name, kimmeraZion.
